The College of Charleston needs new athletic facilities to remain competitive with other universities. This program and schematic design are to aid in pricing and fundraising.
The building creates a new north entrance to the athletic campus and provides a rooftop terrace for viewing baseball and soccer games. Because of budget constraints, site context and city design guidelines, the design emphasizes simplicity and a modern interpretation of traditional forms.
