As part of the college’s continued expansion, the administration had acquired 63 acres in Gaffney, SC for a new campus. The master plan includes 6 future academic and support buildings connected with landscaped paths that work with the naturally steep topography and converge around the future pond. In addition to the master plan, we were charged with establishing the aesthetic precedent for all future construction with the design of the new campus’ first building. The structure was intended to emphasize movement and activity with classrooms surrounding a two-story, glass-walled library in the center and the main corridor and entrance denoted as a transparent box visible from the exterior.
