The homeowners desired a more contemporary aesthetic for their 1950's ranch. Their wish list included a new front porch and door, new windows, reworking the existing front gable, reworking the persistently leaky roof over the garage connector and creating a true master suite.
The design takes cues from the existing house but reinterprets them in a more contemporary way. A new broader gable accentuates the front entrance and turns into the porch canopy which is supported by "V" shaped columns. A cantilevered front porch resting on elevated planters completes the transformation.
